London, again.
Well. What a day. After talking so positively about London just further down this page, and then having the thrill and excitement of the seemingly last minute race for the Olympics in 2012, came the 7th July.
I got up as usual, got ready for work, and flicked on the BBC News website to keep up with things. Not at all prepared with what I saw there. "London Attack" as a big red banner headline.
Got in the car to go to work, and Tony Blair was on the local radio. Never heard that before. Usually it's just twangy country music.
I don't think I felt that surprised that a day like today would come, I mean, it did seem inevitable, which is very sad.
So the day was a bit of a washout. Very busy at work still, but cancelled my planned flying afterwards - didn't really feel like it. Just went home. Which is more than 37 unlucky individuals in London were able to do.
It seems from the BBC that everyone responded superbly to the situation. There was limited panic, efficient rescues in horrendous circumstances, and an excellent emergency plan that appears to have met the challenge - at least from 5000 miles away.
The fact remains that London will recover from this, and I cannot wait to visit the city again. I feel it's as safe as anywhere is nowadays, and look forward to the excitement returning after the dust settles. I've already volunteered for the Olympics - did that before the 7th in fact.
Of course, we remember those who lost everything today.
