Pointless Posting

Hello Y'all,

Well how are you? I know that it's boring 'cos I say this every time, but life is busy here in Houston, TX, land of the free. Free in so many ways except for the important ones.

I still have a job, which I enjoy (and get paid for) which is obviously a big bonus. After work this evening I finally made it out on my bike after hours. You might think that this is a fairly normal event, but I've had a few long days and late teleconferences that has made this difficult. I work a lot with folks from Australia (where BHP Billiton is headquartered) so it involves some late work for me and early work for them, as we're almost perfectly out of sync work-hours-wise. I don't even think any more of calling Australia, or being on a call with people from the UK, Oz, and Texas simultaneously. It's not a big deal - but when you think about it, it is amazing that the whole thing works at all...

Anyway...

On the general 'life' front, things are going well. I've been flying a bit, spent some fun evenings downtown, and am getting set up for a busy Autumn. At the beginning of September, for Labor Day weekend, I am going to Colorado for 4 days. After a coupla weeks at work, I will be back in Great Britain-land for a freind's wedding, which I am looking forward to a lot... Congratulations folks! I just hope BA have sorted out their food problems... I want to be fed on the plane...

At the end of the month, a couple of newly engaged freinds will be visiting Houston, so we will be doing some Texas sight-seeing and general beer-drinking for 10 days or thereabouts.

I'll be back once again in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for Christmas, and it looks like I will spend some time at the London office, where I have some work to do in the New Year. Let me know if any of you readers will be there in early Jan - it'd be cool to meet up...

Anyway, I hope you are all well and enjoying life... You only get one shot...
